Mr. Guerino has been an attorney for forty (40) years retiring as a Judge. Mr. Guerino has been an attorney primarily involved in private practice with Offices located in Newark,  New Jersey, engaging in criminal and civil litigation for large corporations and personal litigation. Mr. Guerino served as a Judge of the Newark Municipal Courts for over twenty (20) years, periodically sitting in the Essex County Central Judicial Processing Court at the Essex County Courthouse. During his tenure as a Judge he presided over thousands of trials dealing with DWI, disorderly persons, traffic and municipal ordinance offenses.  Arraigned, set bail and/or conducted probable cause hearings on defendants charged with indictable offenses including homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, possession and sale of narcotics, burglary and theft. 

 

Prior to that he served as an Assistant Prosecutor where in the Office of Essex County Prosecutor he was assigned and prosecuted high profile cases.  During this time he maintained a conviction average 23% above the office average.  Based on merit he was appointed "Head of Court" and served as an Instructor to Law Enforcement Agencies

 

Mr. Guerino holds a Mediation Certificate and has served as a Law Secretary to a number of Judges in Essex County.  He has also been a Chairperson for and member of several Judicial Committees and Associations in New Jersey, and has been an instructor for the Seton Hall School of Law's Trial Moot Court Program.
